Stranger at Riverscape
After work last Friday, I headed down to Riverscape MetroPark to take some shots of Stranger at First Friday before the Light Up Dayton event downtown. Of course, just like the rest of the summer, it was bright, hot, muggy, and downright oppressive. But what better way to brighten up the end of the work-week then to listen to some 80’s by the best 80’s band around.
You can find more information about the band on their website. They also have a Facebook group and a few videos on YouTube. Stranger is Brian, Bruce, Jeff, Matt, and Rob.
Many of you from around the area will recognize their lead singer, Jeff Stevens, as he is the Operations Manager, Program Director, Timewarp Cafe Host, & Mix Morning Show Co-host at a local radio station in the Dayton area.
Gear for the Shoot
Since I knew I may need a lot of stuff to make it through the whole night of shooting the events of First Friday, Light Up Dayton, and some long exposure stuff later, I had my whole travel bag with me. It holds the Nikon F60 film body, Nikon D5000 body, a 50mm Nikkor 1.4, Tamron 70-300mm, Nikon Kit Lens 18-55, two speedlights, two triggers, a cable release, a wireless release, extra batteries, and extra memory cards. Since the light was pretty bright but under a giant softbox, I shot mostly at ISO 1600 at the lowest aperture for the focal point I was using at the time. I alternated between the kit lens and the 70-300mm to get all of these shots.
